Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a type of infertility treatment where sperm is placed directly in the woman's uterus (intrauterine sperm insemination). In a normal state, sperm must move from the vagina through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes.

During the IUI procedure, the sperm are washed and concentrated and finally placed in the uterus, bringing them closer to the egg. This method increases the possibility of pregnancy in couples who are infertile.
