Ovulation induction (OI) is a fertility procedure that uses drugs to induce or regulate ovulation or increase the number of eggs produced during a cycle to increase the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation induction is usually with a variety of ovarian stimulating drugs to produce and release eggs. If the treatment is successful, the woman ovulates and can become pregnant naturally using intrauterine insemination (IUI) or other fertility methods. Fertility drugs you may need to use to induce ovulation: Daily injections of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH - Puregon/Gonal F) stimulate the ovary to produce follicles containing eggs and encourage those follicles to mature.
